Happy 140th!

It's hard to imagine an organization reaching its 140th birthday. WSE has reached that milestone! Founded in 1869, the society has endured every measurable event in our nation's history and then some. By today's standards, an organization founded in the 1950s or 1960s had been around for a long time, is well established, and most likely has had an impact on its profession. Where do we start with an organization like WSE? Back then in 1869, the Western Territory of the United States encompassed most of the Great Lakes and Chicago. The Columbian Exposition wasn't even a blip on the radar, and the amazing structures we've seen at the turn of the century were only a dream. Wars, epidemics, a depression, and more recently the 9/11 tragedy have left their marks.
