摘要

The satisfaction that mobile phones can provide is highly dependent on their autonomy. For this reason, many efforts are being made to improve this property. A particular architecture for telecommunication receivers has been designed and is described in this article. In order to reduce the power consumption, a zero-IF configuration has been chosen and as many active components as possible have been replaced by microstrip elements. A prototype of a receiver operating on the DCS 1800 standard was built. Experiments were carried out which showed a typical reduction by 60 percent of the power consumption as compared to that of currently available receivers, while complying with the specifications of the DCS standard in terms of sensitivity, selectivity, saturation and intermodulation.
