Rugged 18 GHz Cable Assembly for High-Throughput Production Testing

For test applications that require precise, repeatable measurements, GORE®PHASEFLEX® Microwave/RF Test Assemblies have been designed to provide optimal phase and amplitude stability with flexure. The expanded polytetrafluoroethylene(ePTFE) material used in their construction enables them to be rugged yet lightweight and deliver reliable performance with longer service life and reduced equipment downtime. This results in lower costs for testing in laboratory, production and field test environments (see Figure 1).Cable assemblies have a significant impact on the total cost of testing in production environments. Frequent troubleshooting, time-consuming recalibration and re-testing all have a direct impact on throughput in a manufacturing process which, in turn, significantly increases costs. Also, having to use a torque wrench to connect and disconnect each product from the test equipment slows the testing process.
