Systematics and paleoecology of the benthic Foraminiferida from the Buff Bay section, Miocene of Jamaica

The upper Middle to lower Upper Miocene Buff Bay Formation crops out in a thin zone on the northern and eastern coasts of Ja- maica (text-figure 1), generally in restricted and discontinuous exposures subject to overgrowth and slumping. At its type lo- cality, one kilometer east of the town of Buff Bay, it consists of approximately 50 meters of alternating tan to gray marly lime- stones and calcareous marls interbedded with thin volcanic ash and thicker yellowish-brown friable sandstone beds, and two coarsely conglomeratic debris-flows.
