摘要

The drop reliability of an M.2 module was investigated. The module is a next generation form factor of solid state drive. Considering the actual installation conditions in which the module is mounted on a main board with a socket and screw, three pairs of mounting fixtures including clamp were examined under the conditions that the module was directly mounted on a free fall drop table. Accelerations of bare printed circuit board and module were measured by a miniature accelerometer. Deflections were measured by a non contacting gap sensor. The dynamic behavior of the M.2 module was strongly dependent on the degree of constaint according to the type of fixture. The fluctuation of the module was a combination of short period of impact acceleration and long periods of natural modes. The reliability of clamp/clamp pair was higher than that of the socket+/screw pair. However, the former showed a small deviation than the latter.
