New York—South Africa's Ministry of Minerals and Energy has perhaps the most onerous task, when it comes to carrying out the African National Congress government's stated goal to redress the economic grievances of the majority of South Africans under the apartheid system. And this uphill task falls squarely on the shoulders of the new Minerals Minister, Buyelwa Sonjica, who formerly served as ANC Whip and most recently the Minister of Water Affairs and Forestry.
