Boliden copper smelter output up 4%

Bolidennproduced 84,516 mt of copper from its smelting operationsnin the first quarter, up 4% from output of 81,629 mtnin Q1 2011, but down 4% from 87,611 mt in Q4 last year,nthe Swedish producer said last week. “Copper productionnwas lower than in the previous quarter due to quality problemsnin Ronnskar’s cathode production line,” the companynsaid, adding that it increased compared with the previousnyear due to improved production stability at the Harjavaltansmelter in Finland.
