Designing for quality control

By adopting a variety of engineering software programs, manufacturers around the world have been able to cut design cycles, reduce scrap, and increase the percentage of parts that pass tailgate inspections. But as more and more of their competitors— especially those in Latin America and Asia—invest in the same technologies, many manufacturers are enhancing their competitiveness by exploiting an asset that their upstart competitors may not yet have: an accumulated knowledge of engineering software and its applications.
