The Department of Mechanical Engineering at the Cooper Union for the Advancement of Science and Art solicits applications for a tenure-track faculty position at the assistant or associate professor rank.The Cooper Union, located in New York, is a full-scholarship institution with exceptionally qualified and motivated students. The major responsibilities of the new appointee include teaching the core mechanical engineering courses, undergraduate and masters level research, laboratory development, and student mentoring.rnA Ph.D. or equivalent degree in mechanical engineering or a closely related field is required.rnCandidates should be good communicators; candidates with research interests in nanotechnology, materials, and perhaps related biomedical applications are especially encouraged to apply.
