NEW U.S. FACTORY BUILDING CRANES FOR NUCLEAR PLANTS

A joint venture, formed last fall to supply large, specialty cranes for nuclear power plants, began production in June and says it is on schedule to deliver its first products, a polar crane and a cask-handling crane, to China in the middle of next year. The joint venture, NuCrane Manufacturing LLC in Hutchinson, MN, is the partnership of a Westinghouse Electric Co subsidiary, PaR Nuclear in Shoreview, MN, and Hutchinson Manufacturing Inc in Hutchinion, MN. NuCrane says it is offering fabrication, assembly, and testing services for any crane in any nuclear plant.
