FEED DRIVE ERRORS IN A METAL-CUTTING MACHINE AND WAYS OF REDUCING THEM

Providing the required accuracy is considered for the feed drive system for a numerical program controlled machine. The main factors influencing the machining accuracy are examined. An error component is distinguished that is determined by the parameters of the feed drive system, and basic ways of improving the accuracy are proposed. A method is proposed for simulating the processes in the drive system by the use of the software environment MatLab.
