SYSTEMS OF UNITS AND PROPOSALS FOR THE REDEFINITION OF THE FUNDAMENTAL SI UNITS

The metric system of units, set up at the end of the Eighteenth Century has played a most important role in the development of international trade, and its development led to the establishment of the International System of Units (SI), which was set up by 1960. It became the universal system of units, employed over the whole world, the role of which in the international integration of different countries in all spheres of human activity and its value in the development of globalization processes it would be difficult to overestimate.
