ERROR IN MEASUREMENT OF FREQUENCY INSTABILITY BY METHOD OF THREE OSCILLATORS

It is shown that in precision measurements of frequency instability the method of three oscillators (three-generator hat method) produces a substantial reduction in the errors associated with the noise of the frequency comparators and that associated with the reference signal. Several practical realizations of the method with different measurement errors are considered. A comparison of the data of the realizations is carried out and recommendations for application of the method are presented.
