A Neutron Diffractometer for Determining the Structural Characteristics of Single Crystals

The construction of a neutron diffractometer, a measuring system for determining the structure of single crystals, is described. The results of measurements on a test sample from a batch of standard samples of the diffraction properties of quartz are presented. It is shown that this equipment has been optimized to the level of a high-accuracy x-ray diffractometer.
