Guest Editorial: Some important aspects on Structural Dynamical Systems and their numerical computation

摘要

This special issue aims to illustrate and discuss some aspects, methods and techniques on the subject of Structural Dynamical Systems and their numerical approximations, which constitutes the main topic of several areas in computational mathematics and engineering. Dynamical systems are mathematical models, described by both ordinary and partial differential equations, usually adopted to predict, explain, and understand physical phenomena occurring in several applications. These include simulation and control of large-scale structures, weather prediction, meteorology, air quality management, molecular dynamics, simulation of chemical reactors, financial and economic forecasting, environmental modeling, to name only a few.
