A novel high temperature adhesive for bonding Al_2O_3 ceramic

摘要

High temperature adhesive using in air is extremely important for ceramic components. A novel adhesive for joining Al_2O_3 ceramic was made using polyborosilazanes usually it was donated as PSNB. The ceramic joints were heat-treated at temperatures ranging from 1300 to 1500 ℃ in air surroundings. The bonding strength was tested at room temperature and high temperatures respectively. The best performance of bonding strength at room temperature was 15.73 MPa, which was heat-treated at 1500 ℃, 1.5 KPa for 2 h with a heating rate of 2 ℃/min. The formation of Al_2O_3 • B_2O_3 means the reaction of adhesive and adhesion, and result in improving the bonding strength apparently. Compared to the bonding strength at room temperature, the bonding strength at 800 ℃ was 12.91 MPa, only decreased 18%. The thickness of bonding layer was about 5 urn, and the small thickness has the advantage of reducing thermal residual strain.
