NACE Foundation Supports Summer Internship Opportunities

Several years ago, my son was attending Texas A&M University with the goal of becoming a chemical engineer. After the second year of study, he was offered an internship for the summer with a chemical company. He had a rewarding experience working with a plant engineer and learned a great deal. When I say he learned a great deal, I mean he realized that he really did not have a good understanding of what chemical engineers do in "real life." He told me at the end of the summer, "Mom, if this is what chemical engineers do every day, I don't want to be one."
