摘要

The silt brought into the cooling water system is the main cause of the fouling. To avoid drawing in silt, the intake should be raised up or kept far enough away from silt deposition areas to en sure that the fluid velocity is slower than silt start-up velocity. Silt taken in by the cooling water should be monitored during power plant operation and silt should be removed before it reaches the plant.
