Artist uses rust as medium for painting on steel

Typically, when rust occurs, many industries and individuals work very hard to eliminate it. But Rhonda Thurn-a Canadian artist and the office manager for Rosen Canada, a Calgary, Alberta inline corrosion inspection company - works very hard to make rust; and with it, she creates unique, abstract paintings on sheets of steel.rnWhile attending college, Thurn developed a painting process she calls "burnings," and for the past 18 years, she has been using oxidizers and flames to produce a painting medium, in a wide variety of colors and hues, out of corrosion products.
