摘要

A ferrofluid inhibitor, based on a nanotechnological approach, is used to protect CS from corrosion in acidic media. The IE% increases with the increase in inhibitor concentration, reaching 70% efficiency at the highest concentration of 1,200 ppm used in this series of tests. The weight loss and polarization curves are in good agreement. A layer of nanoferrite in ferrofluid was found to act as an inhibitor, maintaining high resistance to corrosive ions because of the presence of a dense, nonporous, continuous network-like structure. The adsorption of the ferrofluid on the metal surface deviates from the Langmuir adsorption isotherm, indicating that the adsorbing species occupy more or less than a typical adsorption site at the metal/solution interface.
