GAO reports pipeline safety could be enhanced by collecting data on unregulated gathering pipelines

In response to a request by U.S. Senators John D. Rockefeller IV (West Virginia) and Frank R. Lautenberg (New Jersey), the U.S. Government Accountability Office (GAO) (Washington, DC) reviewed pipeline safety issues related to onshore gathering pipelines not regulated by the U.S. Department of Transportation's Pipeline and Hazardous Materials Safety Administration (PHMSA).
