Grounding of F-35 Fighter Jet Lifted after Inspections

The U.S. Department of Defense (Washington, DC) lifted its grounding of the F-35 Lightning II joint strike fighter after an analysis concluded that a cracked turbine blade in an engine on a single plane resulted from overuse in test operations. No other cracks were found during inspections of other engines and engine redesign is not needed.
