FBE COATINGS FOR HIGH-TEMPERATURE PIPELINE APPLICATIONS

According to the open literature, there are no standard test methods for evaluating pipeline epoxy coating performance at temperatures >95 °C. Currently, the standards to evaluate coatings have a testing temperature limit^60 °C for ASTM G421 and 95 °C for CSA Z245.20 Series-10 tests.2 This article presents a methodology to evaluate the performance at higher temperatures of fusion-bonded epoxy (FBE) pipeline coatings.
