U.S. DOD AND CANADIAN DND SIGN CORROSION DATA EXCHANGE AGREEMENT

The long-awaited signing of the Corrosion Prevention, Control, and Mitigation Technologies Data Exchange Agreement (DEA) between the U.S. Department of Defense (DoD) and Canadian Department of National Defence (DND) took place on October 26, 2012 at the National Printing Building in Gatineau, Quebec, Canada. The agreement was signed by Daniel J. Dunmire, director of the DoD Office of Corrosion Policy & Oversight, and BGen A.C. Patch, DND director general of Land Equipment Program Management. The seeds for this collaborative agreement were planted on Aug. 18, 2011 when NACE members coordinated a meeting between DND and DoD after the NACE Northern Area Eastern Conference, held August 15 to 18, 2011. This meeting was also attended by representative NACE members.
