Fifteen-Year History of Cathodic Protection of a Steel-Reinforced Concrete Structure in Saudi Arabia

An operating cathodic protection (CP) system's 15-year history on a chloride-contaminated, atmospherically exposed conventionally reinforced concrete structure in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia conclusively proves that CP can significantly reduce the corrosion rate of the steel reinforcement, and eliminate corrosion and subsequent delamination and damage to the structure.
