NACE International has published Introduction to Corrosion Management of Microbiologically Influenced Corrosion, the first in a series of "CorrCompilations" that are composed of NACE magazine articles, journal and conference papers, and reports on targeted topics. This CorrCompilation, edited by NACE member and MIC expert Rick Eckert, brings together many of the latest microbiologically influenced corrosion (MIC) management resources from NACE annual conference papers, Materials Performance, and CORROSION in a clear, easy-to-follow guide. The compilation of 38 articles and papers provides guidance on implementing the MIC management process, including corrosion threat assessment, selection of mitigation and preventive measures, MIC monitoring methods, and corrosion management systems. These publications are divided between four major sections with an introduction to each section that explains the significance of each reference in terms of the MIC management process. Topics include MIC susceptibility modeling, selection and application of biocides, use of molecular microbiological methods (MMM), internal and external MIC, underdeposit corro- sion and MIC, integration of corrosion and microbiological assessment data, and more. In addition, the compilation includes a list of other important MIC resources such as NACE standards, NACE education courses, and books. Available in both print and as an electronic book, this is an essential resource for anyone who seeks a better understanding of MIC.
