On February 20, 2020, Carboline Company hosted a grand opening ceremony for the new Carboline Fire-Science Research Center in St. Louis, Missouri, USA. The $6-million addition to the group's research, development, and innovation center allows the company to accelerate its speed to market by three times, according to company officials. "This facility will allow us to greatly enhance our position in the global fire protection market by rapidly increasing our speed-to-market with new product developments," says Jim Rippe, executive vice president for the company's fireproof-ing business. "We look forward to welcoming our guests to this world-class fire protection facility." The event included a ribbon-cutting, tours of the facility, and a company luncheon. Among those in attendance were Chris Tiernay, who serves as president and chief operating officer at Carboline; Brentwood City Mayor David A. Dimmitt; Fire Chief Terry Kurten; several members of the Chamber of Commerce; and 125 local employees.
