Not only do coatings provide an aesthetic function, they also play a vital role in the protection against corrosion. Although no protective coating will last forever, certain factors such as substrate preparation,application conditions, the method of application, poor design, or misuse can expedite a coating breakdown. Coating issues like cathodic disbonding, adhesion failure, blistering, and delamination can all be addressed.
