Using Embedded Sacrificial Anode Probes in Concrete Repair

Testing according to the M-82 protocol places the sacrificial anode between two new bars, providing shielding and a severe test condition. In addition, the reinforcing bar density at 5 in center-on-center is high for the anode used in this evaluation. Even under these conditions, the slabs with the sacrificial anodes:1. Had less than half the corrosion activity of the control slabs meeting the requirements of M-82.2. Had anodes that were still producing current after three years of accelerated corrosion conditions.
