The Department of Metallurgy and Materials Engineering, University of Punjab, Lahore, Pakistan and the NACE International Islamabad Pakistan Section jointly organized an event, "Chemistry Behind Corrosion," on November 15 to 20, 2019 for the undergraduate B.Sc. metallurgy and materials students. The objective was to highlight corrosion and its mitigation methods that are based on the fundamentals of chemistry/electrochemistry. For this purpose, faculty member Ameeq Farooq (who is the instructor of an applied chemistry course) arranged a practical demonstration of the NACE Foundation Corrosion Tool Kit (cKit™). This activity was performed to introduce, inspire, and educate young students about the significance and practical knowledge of corrosion engineering in an interactive way.
