摘要

Ten volume-percent zirconia/alumina bi-phase composite with fine-scale aligned microstructure could be fabricated by repeated coextrusion through a reduction die. Crack-free composites with a fiber diameter of 20 (mu)m were obtained after 3rd extrusion. The fracture toughness was increased by introducing the fine zirconia filaments into alumina matrix.
