摘要

In many amorphous and liquid semiconductors and other class of materials, the Meyer-Neldel rule is observed in the d.c. conductivity, where the pre-exponential factor (σ_0) is found to increase exponentially with the activation energy (ΔE). In the present paper, we report on the observation of the Meyer-Neldel rule in case of a.c. conductivity in bulk samples of Se_(68)Ge_(22)Cd_(10) chalcogenide glass. In the present study, the variation of a.c. conductivity with temperature is found to be exponential and the activation energy is found to vary with frequency. The observation of the Meyer-Neldel rule in the present study is explained in terms of compensation effect in relaxation time.
