High-frequency magnetic properties of Ni-Zn ferrite nanoparticles synthesized by a low temperature chemical method

摘要

Spinel-structured Ni-Zn ferrite nanoparticles (NPs) have been directly synthesized by a low temperature co-precipitation method. The structure and high-frequency magnetic properties of the particles were investigated. The as-prepared Ni-Zn ferrite NPs demonstrate typical soft magnetic properties. The saturation magnetization (M_s), as high as about 60emu/g, was achieved. The imaginary part μi of the permeability shows a broad peak in the frequency range 200 MHz-6 GHz, which indicates that the as-prepared Ni-Zn ferrite NPs have a remarkable feature of electromagnetic (EM) wave absorption in the high-frequency range. Hence, resultant Ni-Zn ferrite NPs can be used as efficient microwave absorbers and effective heating mediators for hyperthermia application in cancer therapy.
