Different homo- and block co-polymers/Montmorillonite clay (MMT) nanocomposites have been prepared via surface initiated atom transfer radical polymerization (SI-ATRP) of several vinyl monomers such as methyl methacrylate, styrene and n-butyl methacrylate onto clay surface. Montmorillonite clay was firstly modified with 2-bromoisobuturyl bromide/THF to obtain active ATRP initiating surface. The resulting polymers/MMT nanocomposites were subjected to dielectric studies for further industrial applications for such materials. On that way, several parameters were measured at room temperature such as dielectric constant (ε′), a.c conductivity (σ) and loss tangent (tan δ) at different frequencies.
