摘要

The popular and traditional method of measuring thickness over a single time of flight path using the first echo received as the timing mark can make reliable measurements on weathering steel difficult. This does not mean that measurement is impossible. Surely many of us have been able to obtain readings on structures made from weathering steel. The use of ultrasound to measure the thickness of metals in an effort to determine corrosion has been available to industry for quite some time.
