摘要

The efficacy of the eddy current technique for testing printed circuit boards is shown in this article. The eddy current technique, due to its nature and unique features, can be used as an additional or alternative technique to the optical one. It can now be used for verification of the results of the optical technique on printed circuit boards with path widths of 125 to 150 mu m (0.005 to 0.006 in.). The technique's obtainable resolution does not achieve that of the optical technique, but it significantly approaches it. The comparative simplicity and inexpensive-ness of eddy current testing equipment means that the application of the eddy current technique for printed circuit board control will find a wide market.
