Faceted MoS_2 nanotubes and nanoflowers

摘要

A simple synthesis of novel faceted MoS_2 nanotubes (NTs) and nanoflowers (NFs) starting from molybdenum oxide and thiourea as the sulphur source is reported. The MoS_2 nanotubes with the faceted morphology have not been observed before. Further the as-synthesized MoS_2 nanotubes have high internal surface area. The nanostructures have been characterized by a variety of electron microscopy techniques. It is expected that these MoS_2 nanostrutures will find important applications in energy storage, catalysis and field emission.
