Using multiple Ni wire substrates of 0.6 mm Φ, regularly-coiled carbon microcoils (CMCs) with coil diameters of 4-7 μm were obtained with a high coil yield of 60-70 mg/cm~2-substrate (15-20 % vs. introduced carbon source), which is 2.5-3.5 times higher than that of 15-30 mg/cm~2 when using a conventional plate or tubular substrate. It was found that the coil yield increased by the application of an AC bias voltage of 1300 V, and very high coil yield of 170 mg/cm~2-substrate was obtained.
