Hong Kong: Wonders Never Cease

'Wonders Never Cease' was the slogan for the Hong Kong Tourist Association's 1996-1997 campaign to attract visitors to the pre- and post-handover celebrations, on 1 July 1997, of Hong Kong from British to Chinese sovereignty. And it seemed to work: tourists flocked here and Hong Kong's hotels, restaurants and shops, gorged on the sheer volume of inflowing people and money, a record KH$11.7 billion (US$1.5 billion) for that financial year.
