Floating Tar in the Western North Atlantic and Caribbean Sea, 1982-1996

摘要

This study presents data on the long-term and wide areal distribution of macroscopic floating tar in the western North Atlantic and Caribbean Sea. These data show that the distribution of tar is primarily controlled by large-scale surface circulation patterns and that tar density has decreased during recent years.
