Besiktas Group expands shiprepair scope into Tuzla

ART Shipyard is a new venture established in the Tuzla Bay area, located just outside Istanbul, by the Besiktas Group in April this year. The company is now operating in the Gemsan, Turkter and Yardimci yards, and has acquired two floating docks: one is a Panamax dock measuring 227m × 38m and another a Supramax size facility that has dimensions of 182m × 35.5m. The two floating docks are currently in service at the Gemsan and Yardimci yards, while the Turkter facility is serving as a lay-by berth. Besiktas Group's chief executive officer, Yavuz Kalkavan, says: "ART Shipyard has already become a strong player in the shiprepair market, providing competitive prices and top quality services."
