Passenger ship conversions keep Fincantieri busy

Fincantieri is obviously well-known as a builder of cruise ships and ferries. However, it has also developed a strong position as a leading Mediterranean provider of conversion, refit and repair services to this sector. Over the first half of 2019, Fincantieri's shiprepair and conversion division completed an extensive package of work and redelivered two Grimaldi cruise ferries, Cruise Roma and Cruise Barcelona, originally built by Fincantieri in 2007 and 2008 respectively. The scope of the project involved cutting the two ro-pax ferries in half and inserting a new mid-body section, as well as carrying out extensive interior refurbishment work.
