Mac users have received fair warning that viruses may arrive on the platform soon, when Intego revealed news of a virus called MP3Virus.gen or MP3Concept. This isn't a virus per se, but a demonstration of how an OS X weakness could be exploited by a malicious Trojan Horse or other virus authors. If a user opens the MP3Concept MP3 file, an executable application hidden in its ID tags will run in the iTunes music program. A dialog box then pops up reading: "Yep, this is an application. (So what is your iTunes playing now?)"
