February sees Barcelona overrun with journalists looking for the latest in mobile technology. The city plays host to Mobile World Congress, an exhibition attended by phone- and tablet makers - with the notable exception of Apple. This year we saw product launches from the likes of Samsung, HTC, Sony and LG. There were surprises, too, such as a new Nokia smartphone line-up running Android rather than Windows Phone. The news everyone was waiting for was the launch of the Samsung Galaxy S5, which history tells us will be compared to the iPhone more than any other smartphone.
