Metrically measured motions

The expanding range of metric-sized motion-control components eliminates excuses for not designing to metric standards. The process of designing with metric motion-control components is quite similar to that with their English-dimensioned counterparts. The same design principles and formulas used for English-based measurements apply to metric values. The engineer still needs to know force, lead, and efficiency to calculate torque for a given application. It's just these values are now in metric units of measure.
