UK bank Lloyds TSB was recently propelled into the shipping limelight by its search for a new head of shipping finance.rnAlthough this was not part of its plan, the bank is keen to heighten its image in shipping. In the past it has purposely maintained a low profile even though it has been a major lender to shipping for many years.rnThe bank describes itself as a 'dark horse' in shipping finance, an allusion with Lloyds TSB's famous black horse logo that it inherited from Lloyds Bank. Lloyds TSB's shipping finance team is headed by Andy Longhurst, director of shipping finance and Paul Turner, head of transportation within the bank's structured asset finance department.
