Industry mulls over WDM-PON technology

Wdm-pon has been positioned as a possible successor to EPON/GPON FTTH implementations. Though technically feasible, it is still considered too expensive for wide spread residential deployment. Some wonder if, at least in the near term, the technology is better suited for commercial service delivery. And one analyst even suggests that WDM-PON might be most suitable for applications typically served by CWDM.
