摘要

In the April 2004 "research Matters" column,' Conan O'Rourke touched upon some of the reasons that using correlated color temperature (CCT) to describe the color appearance of light from screw-based compact fluorescent lamps (CFLs) is challenging. Some of these reasons have to do with the definition of CCT (whereby greenish and purr plish lamps can have the same CCT yet appear very different); others with variations in manufacturing processes that can result in lamps rated for the same CCT actually having different CCTs and yet others with the way chromaticity tolerances for lamp CCTs are specified by the lighting industry.
