The New York Times is Satisfied

The Lawrence Berkeley National Laboratory (LBNL) produced the results of its New York Times Building post-occupancy energy savings examination. The post-occupancy study showed that SolarTrac (from MechoSystems), thernwindow management system for the Times' new headquarters, saved 43 percent lighting energy, 23 percent cooling energy, 22 percent peak-day energy and 24 percent total energy. According to the LBNL report, the automated-shading system specifically contributed to overall occupant satisfaction with the headquarters.
