Just one look is all it took. Or to be more precise, just one lighting "cue" may be all it takes to trigger a desired behavior. That is the crux of the seminar entitled, "Predicting Light's Influence on Human Behavior in Outdoor Environments," where Elizabeth Arras and Randy Burkett of Randy Burkett Lighting Design, Inc. will discuss how designers can use visual cues to prompt a reaction. Both successful and unsuccessful settings will be deconstructed to reveal the underlying role lighting plays in the shaping of perceptions of an environment.
